Video: Olivier Salad "Santa Claus Cap". Step-by-step Recipe With Photo

The Santa Claus Hat New Year's salad is a classic Olivier salad with sausage and pickled cucumbers, hidden under an elegant hat made of boiled carrots and egg whites. Ideas for New Year's decorations for a festive table are incredibly diverse. In this Olivier recipe with step-by-step photos, I will tell you how to spend a minimum of time and money, and as a result, get a chic cold appetizer, loved by everyone, without exception. Agree, a bowl with a salad decorated with a dull sprig of parsley or chopped green onions looks pretty trite and dull, but what a holiday without Olivier? In general, as the ladies used to say - you can hide anything under a hat!

Method of preparing and decorating salad Olivier "Santa Claus Hat"
Take half of the recipe for boiled carrots and potatoes, cut the vegetables into cubes no more than half a centimeter in size, throw them into a deep salad bowl.

Cut the boiled sausage ("doctor's" or "amateur") into cubes of the same size as the vegetables, add to the chopped vegetables.

Take the leek stalk, remove the top layer from the light part, then cut the stalk into thin rings and add to the salad bowl.

Cook hard-boiled chicken eggs, cut in half, take out the yolks. We rub the yolks on a fine grater, add to the salad bowl to the rest of the ingredients.

Finely chop the pickled cucumbers. We put the canned peas on a sieve so that the liquid glass. Put cucumbers and peas in a salad bowl, season everything together with mayonnaise, salt and pepper to taste.

We shift the finished Olivier salad into a hemisphere bowl, condense. Turn the bowl over onto a flat plate in a contrasting color, remove the bowl. As a result, the salad salad on the plate will have the correct hat shape.

Rub the remaining boiled carrots on a fine grater, cover the salad with a thick layer of boiled carrots so that the ingredients do not show through the orange layer.

Hard-boiled quail egg. Three fine egg whites. We spread a lush border of grated protein around the cap. On the top of the cap we fix a boiled quail egg, pour a little grated protein around it.

Cut off the tip of the bag with mayonnaise, squeeze out the strips. Chop a green leek very finely, sprinkle on the top of Santa Claus's cap and put the dish in the refrigerator for several hours to soak well.

You can decorate the festive table in the same style. Once I prepared several hats for a New Year's snack table at once - I hid the classic Olivier in a Santa Claus hat made of carrots, a herring under a fur coat in a beetroot hat, a salad with chicken breast and mushrooms under a Monomakh hat, and traditional Mimosa in egg yolks. My hat salon turned out to be extremely successful and tasty.
Olivier salad "Santa Claus Hat" is ready. Upcoming holidays. Merry New Year and Merry Christmas!
