Video: Pepper. Seedling. Care, Cultivation. Helpful Advice. A Photo
We start work with seedlings in late February, early March. To do this, we buy soil or use the soil prepared in the fall. We start sowing with pepper, since the ripening period for the fruit is quite long, about 110-120 days, depending on the variety. Do not listen to sellers who will try to sell you pepper seeds in April, saying that he will catch up, nothing like that, you will have to shoot unripe green fruits in September, nothing good can be cooked from them, only bitterness.
And so we soak the seeds for about a day, so that they hatch, otherwise they will sit in the ground for 10 days. I use several cotton pads. I put a layer of discs on a saucer, then seeds, again a layer of discs, moisten it all with warm water and put it in a warm place. Make sure the discs do not dry out.
We plant the nashed seeds in the ground. You can, of course, buy special containers, but it is more economical to use plastic cups from yogurt, sour cream, etc. Do not forget - this is the personal experience of a mother with many children, she does not need extra expenses.
Planting depth should be about one centimeter. You should not plant deep, the sprout, of course, will appear, but much later. The distance between the seeds is also about one centimeter.
Well that's all. It remains only to water, put on the windowsill and wait for shoots. Watering should be moderate, try not to flood, otherwise the seedlings will die.
At the same time, you can plant petunias. When buying petunia seeds, go for the seed in granules. I have had the sad experience of planting untreated seeds. They ascended with a thick cap, began to seat them, and they are fragile, thin, break from any touch. I had to throw them away.
When buying seeds, don't forget to buy peat tablets. Better to buy a medium size. We come home and soak the tablets in water. Attention: not seeds, but tablets. The seeds are processed with useful substances, and we just wash them off. The tablets will increase 3-4 times, become like a cylinder. We put our cylinders in a container, put a grain on top, lightly crushing it with a finger, in no case burying it. We cover the container with cling film and put it on the window. Water carefully, preferably from a spray bottle. We periodically feed with fertilizers (I water with "Rainbow").
Well, the February work is over. We are waiting for April.
