To grow lavender, you need to know some rules: lavender is very fond of light, hilling and periodic watering with dry lime soil. At the end of flowering, light pruning is done. Heavy clay soils with a large retention of groundwater and high acidity have a detrimental effect on lavender, therefore, under such conditions, it cannot grow.

Lavender seeds require stratification - they need to be mixed with wet sand and refrigerated for 1.5 months.
Seeds are sown, as a rule, in February-March in a soil mixture (leafy soil, humus, sand - 3: 2: 1), to a depth of 0.5 cm and covered with a film on top. After three weeks, the first seedlings will begin to germinate, but they will bloom only after 1-1.5 years.
Lavender is planted in open ground in April-May (when the absence of frost becomes obvious), in a sunlit place 30-40 cm apart and to a depth of 25-30 cm; in autumn, it is better to cover the bushes with spruce branches or dry leaves. When spring comes, you need to add fresh earth to the bushes. In summer, lavender grows, so in autumn the bush can be divided into several small bushes, after digging it up.
In the first two years of life, before flowering, it is better to cut the inflorescences, since young lavender needs to strengthen and develop the root system.
