Campanula, bell (Campanula). Sem. bell-shaped - Campanulaceae. The numerous genus, numbering up to 350 species, is found almost everywhere. Indoor conditions - brittle bell (Campanula fragilis) and equifolia bell (Campanula iscphylla). These beautiful ampelous plants are sometimes called "shooting stars", and even more often "bride - groom". They take up little space in the room, bloom beautifully and abundantly. Both species have long, thin, hanging shoots, on which small oval or round leaves are alternately serrated along the edges. Against the background of beautiful foliage, flowers appear from the end of June: white - at the bell of an equal-leaved and blue - at the bell of a brittle. Bloom from June to November.

Bells are light-requiring, prefer moderately warm rooms. At high temperatures in winter, they begin to grow, and this weakens the plant. Doesn't make big demands on leaving. In the summer they water it abundantly so that the earthy clod is soaked through and through. The water is not drained from the pallet. After it is absorbed, water again. In winter, when the leaves wilt and fall off, the plant is placed in a cool place and watered sparingly. It is advisable to transplant annually into a nutritious loose soil from sod, leafy soil and sand (3: 3: 1).

Propagates well by cuttings, division and seeds. Seeds are sown in February in light soil. Crops are kept in a warm place, dive twice. They are cut in the spring, at first kept under glass, watered very carefully so as not to rot. The appearance of new leaves indicates that the cutting is rooted and can be transplanted into a small pot with loose nutrient soil.

Campanula during the flowering period are very decorative. It is better to place them closer to the window in hanging vases.
