8. Leeks without disappointment
The inimitable leek, the tastiest and most "soft" type of onion, as well as the black onion, demonstrates much higher yields when grown through seedlings.
The seeds of these plants perfectly retain their germination, standard conditions are necessary for growing their seedlings, but unlike cucumbers and other quickly exploding vegetables, you will have to be patient before planting leeks in open ground.
For seedlings, it is better to sow leek seeds in the second half of March, while the seedlings for transfer to the ground should reach fifty days of age.
Leeks need enough intense light in the early stages, so February or early March crops are unacceptable for them. This bulbous representative can be transferred to the open ground from mid-May.
