Restoration and enhancement of natural soil fertility is a long-term process, consisting of a set of works, one of which is saturation of the soil with humus using the "work" of EM crops. There is no need to wait for a miracle. For 1-2 years, if the soil is "sick" and neglected, there will be no big effect, although the yields of cultivated garden and other crops will increase. The soil's recovery will be indicated by its darkening and the appearance of looseness. The actively formed humus will change the color. The soil will become more structured, less loose or dry out in a rocky clod. Plants will become less sick.

The advantage of EM technology is that work can be started in any period of the warm season, provided that the soil temperature is + 8 … + 10 ° C in a 10-15 cm layer (the zone of occurrence of the main root mass of garden crops).

In the 50s of the XX century, great chemistry hit agricultural fields, causing a short-term increase in the yield of crops grown. The increase in effective fertility caused by the introduction into the soil of uncharacteristic preparations (mineral fertilizers, pesticides and other substances) violated the natural ratio of living organisms in the soil, which converted the natural composition of the "living soil" into food for plants.

Gradually, the realization came that one cannot only take, forcing the soil to give up by any means, without returning anything to it. Any working organism requires replenishment of energy that it receives from food, and organic matter is such food for the inhabitants of the soil. From here, the biological (organic, permaculture and other methods) system of farming was born, consolidated and received today a universal vocation.

Not all of them are acceptable for use in small suburban areas. The proposed method for improving and improving the natural fertility of the soil using EM technology is one of the most practical and cost effective. EM technology is convenient in that it is possible to select a site and to make sure of its effectiveness by a comparative method. Spring is coming - the most convenient time for laying an experimental field.

Spring works

If the soil has been dug up since autumn and fertilizers have been applied, it's not scary. With the onset of warm weather, as soon as the top layer is shaken out, close the moisture. To reduce evaporation with a rake or a shallow cultivator, level out the lumps, grind the soil crust. At the same time, humus and compost can be added and embedded in the soil. The depth of tillage is no more than 7-10 cm.

We measure the temperature of the soil in the upper 10 cm layer. When the 8-10 cm layer warms up to + 8 … + 10 ° C, we water the ridges or the area allocated for planting vegetables and other garden crops with the working solution of the Baikal EM-1 preparation at the rate of 2-3 l / sq. m. If EM is introduced earlier, they will not work, they will continue their sleepy state until warming, and the damp vegetable garden will be trampled. The concentration of the working solution is 1: 100. If the soil is severely depleted, a 1:10 concentration can be used. In the first case, add 100 ml of the base solution to 10 liters of chlorine-free warm water, and in the second 1.0 liters of the basic solution of the drug. Stir and water the soil. Mulch immediately. Mulching is a must every time. This agrotechnical technique will slow down the evaporation of moisture, the soil must be moist, which will contribute to the enhanced reproduction of EO.The use of EM solutions is carried out only on wet soil.

With an early culture, a week later, you can sow or plant the garden plants planned for the crop rotation.

With an average culture, after 10-12 days, we spray the soil again with a worker (1.5-2.0 l / sq. M at a concentration of 1: 100) with a solution and after a week we sow or plant vegetable crops.

If the culture is late (seedlings, peppers, eggplant, medium and late tomatoes), then 5-6 days after the first application of EO, you can sow green manure, close it up as a green fertilizer, or plant seedlings between sowing green manure. In this case, cut the green manure so that it does not sow or use a low cut as mulch.

The next and subsequent years in the spring (if not brought in in the fall), you need to add compost or other mature organic matter (humus) at the rate of 1.0-10 kg / sq. m. depending on the level of organic nutrition in the soil. Seal the organic matter in a 5-7 cm soil layer and pour it with a working solution of EM concentration 1: 250 or 40 ml of the base preparation per 10 liters of dechlorinated water. The consumption of the working solution is 2-3 l / sq. m area. After 2 weeks we plant or sow vegetable crops on the prepared soil. We use spring sowing of siderates. Avoid contact of the root system of crops with EO solutions. There may be burns to the roots of plants.

During the summer period, we systematically spray the plants with a working solution 1: 1000 (10 ml of base solution per bucket of water). Spraying crops with a gradual formation of the yield (cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplants, etc.) is repeated after 7-10 days even on absolutely healthy plants, spending 2-3 l / sq. m of land area. Potatoes can be sprayed three times during the mass germination phases, before and after flowering. When infested by pests, treatments are carried out with the same frequency as for other crops. To protect against diseases and pests, we spray with EM-5 working solutions.

Tillage

Weeds in the aisles are weeded with a hoe, while covering them with a thin layer of soil. After weeding, the soil in the row-spacings is watered with a working solution at a concentration of 1:50 - 1: 100 or 200 or 100 ml of the base preparation per 10 liters of water, respectively, and mulch. If the plants have grown, so as not to burn them with a high concentration of the solution, the soil can be treated with a working solution of a lower concentration - 1: 1000 (as for plants). At the same time, directly cut wilted weeds are sprayed (dried ones are preliminarily watered with water) and the soil is mulched.

During the summer, EO can be fed with organic matter: fresh compost is introduced into the grooves of row spacings, followed by shallow incorporation into the soil. In order not to dry out the soil and fertilizing, after embedding the compost it is watered and mulched. You can use biological products "Planriz", "Gumat" and others. Mineral fertilizers cannot be used, as well as pesticides for processing plants. In addition to solutions based on the preparation "Baikal EM-1", you can use only biological products made on the basis of EM soil cultures.

Autumn works

The basis of EM technology is autumn soil preparation. If in spring EMs can work freely for 2-3 weeks before planting plants, then in autumn this period increases to 1-2 months. For this period

  • EO decompose organic matter, restore and increase humus reserves.
  • By processing the roots, they loosen the soil.
  • They accumulate in the soil the macro- and microelements available to plants in the form of chelated salts.
  • By suppressing the work of pathogenic microflora, they heal the soil.
  • They provoke shoots of weeds, which are destroyed physically. In addition, the next wave of weeds hatches in the soil. Getting under frost, the germinated embryos die, clearing the soil in the upper layer of excess weeds. Gradually, the number of weeds decreases, and under a 5-10 cm layer of mulch, they practically disappear. But, one must understand and remember that all changes take time. And more than one year.

In autumn, the following work is carried out:

After harvesting, weed shoots are provoked by watering and spraying the soil with a working solution of Baikal EM-1 or EM-extract 1: 100 - 1: 250 (10 l of water / 100 or 40 ml of EM-base). The consumption of the working solution is 1 l / sq. m of land area. The last treatment is performed 2-3 weeks before the onset of permanent frosts. After treatment, it is advisable to cover the site with a film, which will accelerate the emergence of seedlings of tightly similar seeds. Sprouted weeds are exposed to frost and die.

If there are organic biofertilizers (humus, biocompost), scatter them over the surface of a plot or garden (2-10 kg / sq. M of area) and cover them with a hoe or hand cultivator into the upper 5-7 cm layer of soil. Shredded green residues from cultivated crops can be used. Pour the EM solution on top at the rate of 2-3 liters per 1 sq. m of working solution with a concentration of 1: 100 - 1: 250. To prepare working solutions, use basic solutions of EM-Baikal, EM-extract, EM-urgas.

In subsequent years, add organic matter constantly in the fall. Moreover, you can gradually lower the application rate to 2-5 kg ​​/ sq. m area. Organic fertilizers, other crushed biowaste can be embedded in the soil or literally sprinkled with a 3-5 cm layer of soil. If the soil is dry, be sure to irrigate and treat the wet soil with a working solution of EM at the rate of 1: 100 or 100 ml of base solution per 10 liters of water.

After cultivating the soil in a week, sow the area with any green manure suitable for the future culture. If you use this technique, then after mowing the green manure, again process the soil with a working solution of EM with green fertilizer and mulch the soil. You can leave the mown green manure on the soil surface, but still treat it with a working solution, replenishing the soil with Emotions and humus of green fertilizer.

You can lay a winter bed by spilling each layer with a working solution with a concentration of 1: 100 or 1: 250, which is 100 and 40 ml of a base solution for 10 liters of water. Be sure to moisten the last layer of soil and pour it over the wet layer with an EM solution 1: 100 and leave the garden bed until spring.

Soil cultivation with working solutions of EM preparations (EM-Baikal, extract, urgas) for 3-4 years will significantly improve the soil, increase the humus content, and, therefore, soil fertility, free from the abundance of malicious weeds. The use of only these drugs, only in such concentrations and only during the listed periods is not a dogma. With close observation, you will find your optimal approach to organic farming. This is a mixed planting of vegetable and garden plants with compatible flower and medicinal crops. The use of decoctions and infusions of herbs, especially medicinal (thyme, yarrow, mint, nasturtium, dandelion, etc.).

You can successfully use other biological products to restore soil fertility: baxib, radiance-2, radiance-3, rhizoplan, bacillon. Numerous biological products against fungal and bacterial diseases and pests, will help heal plants (raise their immunity) and destroy epiphytotic damage to crops from diseases (trichodermin, phytosporin-M, bactophyte, alirin, etc.) and pests (actofit, verticillin, nemabakt, bitoxybacillin and etc.).

In biological farming, use all the waste from the household, return it to the soil, saturate it with organic matter and it will thank you with harvests of organic products of enviable quality.
