3. Zamioculcas

The dollar tree, as we like to call it zamiokulkas, is often perceived as a symbol of success or a kind of talisman. This plant is perhaps the main candidate for the role of a green "gift" in the business sphere. Therefore, it is not surprising that in offices and workrooms, zamioculcas quickly replaced the more popular plants. One can argue about the impact of this culture on energy and success. But the fact that zamiokulkas fits perfectly into any work area is undeniable.

This plant with a strict structure, which visually expands the space, compensates for the accumulation of stationery, brings harmony to the interior and does not take up much space. Zamioculcas looks splendid and strict, plays an important role in air purification. And it pleases the eye, exerting an imperceptible but important influence on the mood. It looks great both in splendid isolation, and in the company of other plants, on window sills, in the corner of a room or on a decorative stand.

Zamioculcas zamielistny(Zamioculcas zamiifolia) is a houseplant that is easy to recognize at first sight. The special structure of the tuberous storage root, hidden under the ground, and the feathery leaves, which look more like symmetrically leafy twigs, are difficult to confuse with any other indoor plant. Volumetric, powerful cuttings, on which ideally symmetrically oval leaf-lobes are located, only enhance the similarity with twigs. Forming a rosette-like slender silhouette, the feathery leaves gradually grow, reaching a length of almost 1 m. The dark color of greenery, a shiny surface and a special waxy coating give the appearance of zamioculcas a spectacular beauty. Slow growth does not scare off at all, because the growth rate, the ability to release up to 2 leaves a year is compensated by endurance and stable decorativeness.Zamioculcas bloom only at a very respectable age, and even then it is extremely rare.

Zamioculcas have become so popular due to their endurance. These are true indoor Spartans who tolerate gaps in grooming or misses with the selection of conditions well. They feel great in any diffused lighting, but are not afraid of light shading. Any room temperature for this plant is quite suitable, zamioculcas is not afraid of either heat or coolness (not lower than 16 degrees). It can be displayed both on the windowsill and in the interior.

This is one of the rare indoor plants that can tolerate skipping watering and dry air. Regular spraying improves the decorative effect of the leaves, but is not required. Water the plant abundantly, but letting the substrate dry out between these procedures. During the winter, watering should be minimal. Top dressing is applied at a standard frequency. For the rest, caring for zamiokulkas comes down to regularly cleaning the leaves from dust. Pests and diseases on zamioculcas are very rare, but in unfavorable conditions and with poor care, the plant will help to suffer from spider mites and aphids.

Annual transplantation of zamioculcas will only be needed at a very young age. Old zamioculcas are transplanted only when the roots are shown from the drainage holes. A transplant is carried out in the spring, laying high drainage and choosing medium-sized containers, in which the zamioculcas will be slightly cramped. For zamioculcas, any loose nutrient substrate with a neutral reaction is suitable.

The easiest way to grow zamioculcas is from cuttings. For reproduction, both a whole cirrus leaf and individual leaf blades are cut off. If the plant is large, produces a large number of shoots, then zamiokulkas can be divided into large divisions with several growth points.
