2. King of longflowers - oak sage
Salvia oak (salvia nemorosa), also known in our country as forest sage, reaches a height of 35 to 60 cm, depending on the variety. Shoots are straight, branching, densely covered with large lower leaves with a cordate base and rounded top, a beautiful edge and wrinkled surface. At the top of the shoots, the leaves become smaller, but still create a very beautiful mass.
Nondescript tubular flowers with beautiful bracts are collected in very spectacular candle-shaped inflorescences, located in whorls. They reach a length of 20 to 40 cm, are divided into several lateral branches.
The varietal palette of the plant is really outstanding: classic lavender, purple, lilac, blue colors are combined with pink and even white in various variations of tones.

This perennial is able to bloom all summer from June to September, often covering not only summer, but also the beginning of autumn. But for a continuous wave of flowering, it is necessary to solve the problem of the August weakening: fading inflorescences must be removed in a timely manner, preventing the beginning of seed ripening.
Oak sage is suitable for the design of borders, mixborders, group plantings of any size and type.

Suitable Conditions: Prefers moderately moist and nutritious soil and semi-shade or sunny locations.
Features of care: top dressing in early spring and after the first wave of flowering, trimming sod in late autumn or spring.
