Lazy cabbage rolls with sauerkraut and chicken fillet baked in the oven in a thick gravy of sour cream and tomato sauce, in my opinion, are even tastier than ordinary cabbage rolls with fresh cabbage. Once I saw on TV a recipe for Hungarian cabbage rolls, in which the filling was wrapped in whole sauerkraut leaves. Since there were no whole sauerkraut heads in the bins, I had to improvise, and the result exceeded expectations. In general, I offer one more stuffed cabbage recipes to my piggy bank, my family really liked it.

Ingredients for cabbage rolls with sauerkraut and chicken fillet
- 700 g chicken breast fillet;
- 160 g of rice;
- 250 g sauerkraut;
- 120 g of onions;
- 80 g carrots;
- 200 g sour cream;
- 150 g tomato puree;
- 2 teaspoons sweet paprika
- salt, olive oil;
- asafoetida optional.
Method for preparing lazy cabbage rolls
Wash the chicken fillet, dry it, cut it into small cubes. Fillets for lazy cabbage rolls can be easily turned into minced meat without a meat grinder and blender, it is enough to chop with a meat hatchet for a few minutes, and it will turn into minced meat. If this method seems difficult to you, then pass the meat through a meat grinder (nozzle with large holes).

Chop the onions finely, rub the carrots on a coarse vegetable grater. Pour olive oil into a frying pan, put vegetables, fry over medium heat for 15 minutes.
First, rinse the sauerkraut thoroughly with cold water, then fill it with boiling water, bring to a boil, drain the first water, pour it again with boiling water, boil for 15-20 minutes.
We wash the rice, pour it into a saucepan, pour a glass of cold water. After boiling, reduce heat to a minimum, close tightly with a lid, cook for 12 minutes.



For pouring, mix sour cream and tomato puree in a bowl, add ground sweet paprika, salt to taste. Homemade preparations for such a sauce will come in handy, in my recipe there are tomato puree with sweet peppers and onions, very tasty!

Cooking minced meat for lazy cabbage rolls. Combine all prepared ingredients in a large bowl - chopped chicken fillet, boiled rice, fried vegetables, boiled sauerkraut. If the cabbage was chopped coarsely, then I advise you to chop it smaller. Season the minced meat - salt, pepper to your taste, I also suggest adding a pinch of asafoetida. This oriental spice is made from smelly ferula milk juice, it has a pungent, garlic-onion aroma, you need to add it carefully, quite a bit, since the aroma is unusual, not everyone may like it, because it is not for nothing that asafoetida is called damn feces or smelly tar.

Knead the minced meat thoroughly so that the ingredients combine evenly.

With wet hands, we form oval darlings, put in a greased form with a small distance from each other.

Pour the sour cream-tomato filling into the mold, pour the lazy cabbage rolls with olive oil, put them in the heated oven.

Cook at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes. Serve lazy cabbage rolls with sauerkraut and chicken fillet hot on the table.
