Status: abutilon is the most fashionable representative of blooming indoor giants.
An abundantly branching, dense indoor maple, abutilone develops either in the form of a bush or as a tree. Its crown is very wide, often exceeding its height in diameter. Lush, branched, tall, abutilon would seem to be a plant too powerful, but thanks to its special foliage and translucent crown, it is not prone to negative effects on the surrounding space.
In the development of abutilon, the phases of active development and preparation for flowering are pronounced, and in the winter period of dormancy, the plant does not require any special measures. Abutilon blooms until autumn, in comfortable conditions and with the prevention of a decrease in the duration of daylight hours, it can continue to bloom almost throughout the year.
Today, not species, but hybrid and varietal abutilones are popular. They offer to enjoy the abundance of flowering for a longer period, are more hardy. But the main advantage of modern hybrid varieties is the variability of the color range.
Abutilon height: from 1 meter
Abutilone leaves: large maple-shaped, up to 20 cm in diameter, lobed, with a beautiful carved edge, a surprisingly beautiful velvety surface and a color that ranges from bright sunny green to dark "forest", most abutilones have white or yellow spots on the leaves. which can only be seen at close range.
Inflorescences of abutilon: flowers are broadly bell-shaped, up to 5 cm in diameter, single or in small "bunches", most often drooping, with translucent petals, on the plant they resemble small skirts or bells, stamens are massive and only decorate the plant.
Abutilone color range: Abutilones are characterized by gentle pastel tones and beautiful shades, even saturated colors are perceived as touching; there are abutilon varieties with yellow, red, pink, purple, cherry and even purple flowers, many combine several color tones or a basic gentle tone combined with beautiful dark veins; even the leaves can have a variety of "colored" variations with a bright yellow pattern.
Features of growing abutilone: light-loving abutilone requires regular watering, pinching of branches, removal of wilting flowers, active feeding.
