Selaginella (Selaginella, family Selaginella) - ground cover spore plant with graceful, spreading on the ground and easily rooting stems covered with tightly pressed small green leaves. Selaginella's homeland is the tropics and subtropics of the globe. There are epiphytic species of this plant. The most popular are the following types of selaginella:
- Selaginella beznozhkovaya (Selaginella Apoda) - a compact bush with leaves of light green color;
- Selaginella uncinata - ampelous plant with bluish leaves;
- Selaginella Kraussa 'Aurea' (Selaginella kraussiana 'aurea') - also ampelous plant, but its leaves with a golden yellow tint;

Selaginella prefers partial shade, it is better to place the pot with it at some distance from the window, away from direct sunlight. The plant should be sprayed several times a day, but it is better to put selaginella in a pots with wet peat. The temperature in the room with selaginella should not fall below 18 - 20 ° C.

Selaginella is watered with soft water, the soil should always be moist. Only in winter, watering is slightly reduced. Selaginella needs to be fed with slightly acidic fertilizer every month during the warm season. Transplant the plant in the spring, as needed. The soil mixture is made up of peat and crushed moss in a 1: 1 ratio. Propagated by stem cuttings in spring or summer, rooting occurs at a temperature of 22 - 25 ° C.
