Pepper is considered one of the most ancient vegetables. It began to be cultivated several tens of centuries before our era. Pepper is native to South and Central America; wild species of this plant still grow in its tropical regions. The first fruits of pepper appeared in Europe in the 15th thanks to the expedition of Columbus. And as a vegetable crop, it began to be grown a few years later. After Europe, pepper came to Turkey, from there to Bulgaria, then Moldova, Ukraine and southern regions of Russia. Pepper appeared in Russia at the beginning of the 17th century. However, pepper became widespread in our country only after a century and a half.

According to its valuable characteristics, it can be divided into three groups:

  • vegetable pepper (sweet) - people often call Bulgarian;
  • paprika (spicy) - used for grinding (paprika production);
  • hot pepper - usually small-fruited with thin pulp of a pungent taste.

Pepper reacts very strongly to the peculiarities of the growing area and the agricultural technology used. Well-lit and ventilated areas with high soil fertility are better suited for it. It is advisable to apply organic fertilizers under the previous crop, and directly under the pepper in the fall, you can apply humus and well-decomposed compost at 100–120 kg per 100 m2 and mineral fertilizers such as azofoska at the rate of 5–6 kg per 100 m2. More expensive brands of fertilizers are best used in top dressing during the growing season.

Important for pepper and precursor. Better if it is cabbage or cucumber. If it is difficult to provide such a predecessor, then it is possible to sow siderates as a catch crop: mustard, oats with peas or vetch, rye. This will, to a certain extent, reduce the risk of plant damage from wilting diseases. Although the assortment of POISK Agroholding is more stable in this respect than the assortment of foreign companies.

Soils are preferred with lighter texture. Loosening materials are introduced to improve swollen and heavy soils. Straw manure is applied under the predecessor, straw cutting, husk, husk or green manure - directly under the culture of pepper. To embed fertilizers and loosening materials, digging or milling is performed. The soil is especially carefully prepared in spring greenhouses, where a high agricultural background is the key to obtaining high yields of pepper. Greenhouses also need decontamination. To do this, use the processing of structures with Pharmayod, use sulfuric and insectoacaricidal checkers and other agrochemicals.
