Video: Grafting Of Indoor Lemon, Tangerine And Other Citrus Fruits. Master Class. Good Advice. Video
Hello dear gardeners, gardeners and flower growers! While we don't have much to do outside in the garden, in the garden, we, of course, pay great attention to our indoor plants. And very often it happens that it is just by chance in which pot with a houseplant that we grow a lemon, or an orange, or a tangerine. And we already talked about this once, about the fact that we accidentally drink tea, throw a bone, it sprouts, slowly something grows, pretty, elegant. Suddenly such a plant grows. And when we taste this plant, what is it, we smell a lemon, or an orange, or maybe a tangerine. All this is quite suitable in order to grow a pretty wonderful varietal plant using this plant as a rootstock. It is important that the intended inoculation site is at least 4 mm in diameter.
Look, we take, remove from this - this is what we call a stock - the upper part. We don't need it. If we had left this plant as it was, we would have formed a crown, looked after properly, watered, fed, earlier than in 10-12, or even 15 years, we would not have received a single fruit from such a plant. Therefore, in order to accelerate fruiting, we must graft a varietal plant to our wild boar. What does varietal plant mean? A plant that produces certain fruits, say, lemons or tangerines, kumquats are different. Someone with friends, for example, grow and bear fruit well. And it is from the fruiting plants that we must cut the stalk. We cut the stalk from the part that is not very nice for us.
For example, look at this twig. The angle of departure of each branch is unsuccessful, and we can correct this situation by removing one of these branches.
The stalk is thin in size. But what to do? We will now give you a vaccine called "cleft". We will make two cuttings from this cutting. Let's cut it into approximately two equal parts, but take it so that the lower one is shorter, the upper one is longer. In this case, our slice, the same, will be larger. Cut off some of the leaves. You can cut off the leaves entirely, you can only cut off a part of the leaf blades, so that evaporation is much less in the plant. Thus, we prepared one stalk, prepared the second stalk. There are two leaves here. It is enough if we remove only half of the leaf blade. In this way. Here we have two cuttings ready.
Here on the rootstock we make a smooth cut, an even horizontal cut.
Now we are cutting it in half along our rootstock, about two centimeters deep. Insofar as we have thin scions, two centimeters is quite enough. So we made such a cut.
Now from these cuttings we make cuttings, the cuts of which look like spatulas. Look, on the one hand - one, and on the other hand - two. Also somewhere around 1.5-2 centimeters. And we insert it into this split, which we got on the rootstock: one part, and the second stalk, you can remove the leaf, and the same thing, making a spatula 1.5-2 centimeters in length, on one side and on the other side, then we insert the same thing, only on the other side of this notch of ours. Please do not touch the cuts with your hands, do not bring in any dirt.
Here we have inserted two cuttings, which we must fix with a ribbon. Either this is a special ribbon, or just take plastic wrap. And we wrap it properly so that the rootstock bark is in contact with the scion bark.
And, my dears, after about two months, the grafts grow together, and during this period you just have to spray the plant more often, take care of it, feed it. So, my dears, you saw that it is not difficult to do this, but if you do this, then a varietal good plant will grow in your house called either a lemon of some sort, Meyer, for example, or an orange or a mandarin.
