Having got hold of a plot of land overgrown with weeds, I really want to turn it into a beautiful blooming garden and, first of all, make flower beds! To avoid disappointment, you need to start with the simple and reliable.

In the first year of the development of the site, you need to try not to do unnecessary work. Judging by myself: I wanted to plant and grow everything that caught my eye in bright color catalogs. As a result - either it did not germinate or it did not bloom - there is more frustration than joy. Now, after many years, I know with what reliable and unpretentious beauties you need to start flower beds and I want to share this with you.

Let's start with perennials as they are the least hassle. It is so nice to greet them in early spring, when it seemed that all the flowers had died in winter, but you come to the garden - and, lo and behold, the first shoots of old acquaintances are already breaking through in a familiar place.

So, for a start, from perennials, I propose such flowers that will grow and bloom for sure.

Lupine

Forms a spectacular bush over a meter high. Flowers are collected in large pyramidal clusters. They can be white, dark blue, light blue, purple, pink. A bush with large carved leaves is beautiful in itself, even without flowers. Lupine seeds are sown in spring or fall. This plant loves to reproduce on its own. It suits me - I just transplant the grown flower wherever I think is necessary. Lupine blooms in June-August.

Delphinium (Spornik)

You need to have it at every site. Grows well in any soil, frost-resistant, loves sunny places. The bush reaches human growth, in spring it grows right before our eyes. The leaves are dissected, the flowers can be blue-blue, white, pink with spots, collected in huge inflorescences. Delphinium is propagated by seeds before winter or by dividing old bushes. Blooms in June-August.

Narcissus

One of the most unpretentious plants. A bristle of daffodils will be the first to greet you in spring. Grows well in moist soils, in the shade. Daffodil bulbs are planted in September to a depth of 8-10 cm. Daffodils are different, both in color (white, yellow) and in height. But they are all good for their cleanliness and friendliness.

Bulbs are not dug up for the winter, they can not be transplanted for five years. There is not much work with them, you admire them more. Bloom in May-June.

Phlox

It is difficult to imagine a garden without the delicate scent of phlox. Bright caps of flowers - pink, red, white - attract the eye from afar. Propagate by dividing the bushes. Feel good in separate flower beds. I prefer tall bushes - up to 180 cm, maybe creeping up to 15 cm. They bloom from July to September.

Gelenium

This is the name of the autumn chamomile. Lush tall bush with a huge number of inflorescences - yellow, brown, copper-red. Grows well on loamy soils. It is very important that the sun is not obscured from it. That's all the autumn chamomile needs. Blooms in July-October.

If you plant only the plants listed above, believe me, your site can already be called a garden, but we will also talk with you about unpretentious one-year-olds and about climbing plants, about ornamental shrubs and, of course, lawns.

And the last thing: when planting, be sure to maintain the recommended distance between plants. As a rule, this distance should not be less than 20 cm. This distance seems large, but it is not. Otherwise, the plants will develop poorly, they simply will not have enough living space.
