Homemade tomato juice, in the recipe of which a blender is used, is simple, tasty and can be done by any housewife. I don't use a juicer. Frankly speaking, I just feel sorry for the place in the kitchen. This kitchen gadget is needed only a couple of months a year, if you are not a fan of freshly squeezed drinks, and it will take a shelf in a cabinet for a long time. A regular blender, and in the old days a simple meat grinder and sieve, solves the problem of making tomato juice at home as well as a juicer, although not as quickly.

In my childhood, juices were rarely made at home, 3-liter jars with tomato "nectar" never disappeared from the shelves, even in moments of the most severe crisis. However, when the child appeared, I thought about a quality product that was made with my own hands from delicious tomatoes. I tried it - it worked, and since then, in the fall, when there is simply nowhere to get away from ripe tomatoes, I spoil the family with a thick and tasty drink.

  • Cooking time: 40 minutes
  • Quantity: 1.5 l

Ingredients for making homemade tomato juice:

  • 2.5 kg of ripe tomatoes;
  • salt, sugar.

A method of preparing homemade tomato juice in a blender

So, the most ripe and fleshy tomatoes, even if they are a little overripe and, horror, with minor defects, wash thoroughly with cold water. Then we cut out defects and compaction near the stalks, cut the vegetables coarsely.

I have long noticed that for tasty juice it is better to take overripe and sweet tomatoes with defects than ideal, but dense, unripe ones.

Now place the sliced tomatoes in a blender. My bowl is small, so I puree the vegetables in portions.

We turn vegetables into a homogeneous puree. The mass will turn out to be quite fluffy and light, don't let that scare you, because this is a blender. Its functions include not only grinding products, but also whipping.

Now we take a container in which we will cook tomato mass and a fine sieve. Wipe the chopped puree through a sieve with a tablespoon. Only the skin and seeds will remain on the grid, all the most delicious will gradually move into the pan.

We put the container on the stove, bring it to a boil over moderate heat. The liquid will foam a lot at first. This is the release of air bubbles, which are saturated with the mass in the blender. Gradually the foam will settle down and the juice will take on a traditional bright red color. At this stage, add granulated sugar and table salt without additives to your taste. Boil with salt and sugar for about 10 minutes, then remove from the stove.

I wash the jars for the preparation thoroughly and dry for 10 minutes in the oven at a temperature of about 100 degrees Celsius. Pour boiling tomato juice into jars, immediately close the lids tightly. We turn the cans upside down, wrap them warm, leave overnight.

Store homemade tomato juice in a cool, dark place.

I share the taste of my childhood. We bought half a glass of sour cream, a glass of tomato juice and several sandwiches with smoked sausage and a fresh loaf in a cafe after training. They mixed juice with sour cream, salted and washed down sandwiches with this divine nectar.

Homemade tomato juice in a blender is ready. Bon Appetit!
