We bake sweet Easter bread with dates without sugar, but it will turn out to be very tasty - believe me, sweets are enough! Sweet bread for Easter is delicious spread with a thick layer of butter. When the bread is fresh, the crust is crispy, then there is nothing tastier! Beauty and deliciousness - in simplicity! The dough is made using malt. Rye malt is made from sprouted rye seeds and is used in baking and brewing. It is a natural food additive that enhances the taste and color of homemade bread. Fermented rye malt is also used to darken baked goods. Bread baked with the addition of malt does not stale longer.

Ingredients for Easter Date Bread
- 160 g of milk;
- 220 g wheat flour;
- 30 g wheat bran;
- 30 g unfermented rye malt
- 1 teaspoon dry yeast;
- ¼ teaspoon of salt;
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 60 g dates;
- 1 egg;
- 2 teaspoons of poppy seeds.
Method of making sweet Easter bread with dates
Sift wheat flour into a bowl, add dry fast-acting yeast. The yeast in this Easter bread recipe can be mixed directly with flour without having to be activated first.
Add fine salt, unfermented rye malt, wheat bran to the flour. Mix dry ingredients thoroughly.
Heat the milk to 30-35 degrees Celsius, pour it into a bowl with dry ingredients.



Pour the dates with boiling water, rinse, peel, cut finely. Add the chopped dates to the bowl.
Pour in extra virgin olive oil. Use delicious and quality olive oil for baking, it gives the bread a unique flavor.
First, knead the Easter cake dough with a spoon, if it turns out to be very dry, then I advise you to pour in a little lukewarm water.



We spread the dough on the desktop, knead for 10-12 minutes. Grease the bowl with olive oil, put the dough, cover with a damp towel, leave for 2 hours in a warm place.

After 2 hours, the dough approximately doubles, knead it and weigh it.

We divide the bun into 6 equal parts so that the Easter bread turns out beautiful and has the correct shape, I advise you to weigh each piece. We roll up six balls of dough, put them in a mold with high sides so that we get a flower with a middle in the center. It is convenient to use a cast iron pan for baking, the heat is evenly distributed.

Cover the pan with a towel, leave it warm for 30 minutes. Break the egg into a bowl, mix with a fork. Lubricate the bread with a beaten egg, sprinkle with poppy seeds.

We heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Place the pan in the preheated oven on the middle shelf. We bake for 20 minutes.

We immediately take the baked bread out of the pan, cool it on a wire rack so that the bottom does not sweat, and the crust remains crispy.
