Buckwheat with chicken liver in the oven is quick, tasty and simple. It takes just over half an hour to prepare and cook a dish, it turns out to be full-fledged hot, like meat with a side dish. Of course, by-products are not meat, but sometimes they need to be included in the menu, especially the liver. Buckwheat porridge with vegetables and chicken liver turns out to be crumbly, pieces of chicken liver are tasty, tender, like butter, and sweet bell peppers, carrots and onions successfully complement this dish. - 350 g chicken liver;
- 120 g of buckwheat;
- 1 onion;
- 1 carrot;
- 1 yellow bell pepper;
- 25 g butter;
- 10 g of vegetable oil;
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- salt, water.

Heat vegetable and butter in a frying pan. In hot oil, quickly fry finely chopped onions until translucent. It is convenient to cook this dish in a cast-iron frying pan or in a frying pan with a removable handle - we fry everything in one dish, bake everything in it, or you can use clay pots with lids for baking.
Add the carrot cut into large cubes to the onion, fry it together with the onion for a few more minutes, the carrot should brown a little.
Pour dry buckwheat to the fried vegetables. For this recipe, use kernels, crushed buckwheat will not work. Fry dry buckwheat with vegetables for 5 minutes, stir so that it absorbs the juices and becomes covered with oil.



Pour two liters of water into a saucepan, bring to a boil, add two teaspoons of salt. We wash the chicken liver with cold water, cut off all the excess. Put pieces of liver in boiling water for 3 minutes.

Salt buckwheat with vegetables to taste, sprinkle with dried thyme, if there is fresh, then put 3-4 small sprigs. Put pieces of liver stewed in boiling water on top of vegetables and cereals.

Cut the sweet bell pepper in half, remove the stalk with seeds. We wash the halves with water, cut into cubes. Pour the chopped peppers into a mold.
Pour boiling water so that it completely covers the cereals and vegetables.
Lubricate the pieces of liver sticking out above the water with vegetable oil. This is not necessary, but desirable, it will turn out to be a little golden brown, it looks delicious. Optionally, you can grease it not with butter, but with mayonnaise or thick sour cream.



We heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Cover the frying pan with a sheet of foil so that the foil does not fit tightly, let there remain holes for the steam to escape. We send the pan into a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, remove the foil 10 minutes before readiness. The exact cooking time depends on the characteristics of the oven and may vary slightly, usually half an hour is sufficient time for cooking porridge.
