Video: 10 Varieties And Hybrids Of Zucchini That Are Not Afraid Of Diseases And Vagaries Of The Weather. Description, Photo
Zucchini is considered a dietary product - it has a low calorie content, contains a lot of potassium, iron, B vitamins, vitamin C and other substances useful for the body. It is also interesting in that the fruits (pumpkin) are used for food by young, not ripe (green plants). This means that there is no need to wait for the ripening of the crop, and from the end of spring (when grown through seedlings) until autumn, you can have fresh vegetables on the menu. It is better to grow varieties and hybrids of zucchini that are resistant to diseases and changes in weather conditions in your beds. This eliminates unwanted chemical treatments and allows you to harvest in any weather. It is about such varieties and hybrids of zucchini that will be discussed in this article.
1. Zucchini "Yellow-fruited"
The domestic variety of zucchini group zucchini is adapted to various weather changes, so it grows normally in many regions with a short warm period. Early maturing. From germination to the first harvest of zelentsy - 40 days. In the future, fruit collection is carried out 1-2 times a week.
This zucchini is characterized by a compact bush, literally dotted with bright yellow fruits at the base. The pulp is light yellow, but it can be creamy. The fruits are stored for more than a month.
In other years, instead of this variety of zucchini, I use the varieties "Zolotinka" or the Golden Key "(they are also yellow-fruited). Form 15-18 fruits on the bush. Fruit weight 400-500 g. Straw-yellow pulp with pleasant taste. "Zolotinka" has sweet flesh, suitable for baby food.
2. Zucchini "Early ripe emerald"
The zucchini variety forms dark green pumpkins. The bush is compact, the fruits are elongated cylindrical, of medium size. The diameter of the fruit is approximately the same along its entire length. The fruits are large, the flesh is dense, which affects the total mass of pumpkin, reaching 700-1200 g.
Zucchini has a delicate pleasant taste. The variety is characterized by a high manganese content. The first crop of zucchini is given 45 days after the emergence of shoots, and 4-5 fruits are formed at once. The fruits must be harvested on time. This contributes to the setting and growth of new zelents.
3. Zucchini "Tsukesha"
Many of my friends like the Tsukesha variety. It belongs to the varieties of early zucchini varieties with a long yield. Recommended for cold regions of Russia. The term for obtaining technically mature fruits ranges from 40-51 days.
Bushy plants with large leaves. An interesting variety in that the fruits have a very elongated cylindrical shape (up to 30-40 cm), the peel is dark green, for which they are referred to the zucchini group. The mass of zucchini fruits is from 600 to 900 g. From a bush, you can get up to 12 kg of fruits.
Zucchini pulp is juicy, very tasty. According to reviews, the fruits can be stored for a long time without reducing the taste. They tolerate long-distance transportation well.
4. Zucchini "Cavili F1"
Parthenocarpic culture of marrows, the formation of fruits of which takes place without pollination. Zucchini pumpkins in such hybrids and varieties do not have seeds or they are very small, not formed, which is especially important in the manufacture of caviar, canning and other preparations.
Among the parthenocarpic zucchini of early maturity, the hybrid "Kavili F1" is among the best. The period from full germination to harvest is 40-42 days. This is a true parthenocarpic, ultra-early maturing, long-bearing hybrid. The bushes are large but compact. It does not need pollination, so it bears fruit in both low and high weather. Resistant to most diseases, including powdery mildew.
The hybrid is characterized by abundant and prolonged fruit formation, up to autumn frosts. I start harvesting at a pumpkin length of 16 cm and a mass of at least 300 g. From one bush, as a rule, I get 8-12 kg of light green fruits. The flesh of the zucchini is juicy and tender, whitish in color, pleasant taste, when the fruits overgrow, it does not coarse.
Fruits can be stored for a long time without changing their quality indicators and are well tolerated over long distances.
5. Zucchini "Iskander F1"
Unique Dutch zucchini hybrid. The bush is large, stocky. Differs in natural resistance to most diseases and the ability to form super-early harvests. The first fruits can be removed 36-40 days after germination in the open field.
Zucchini fruits are light green in color, sometimes in a white speck, elongated, with a dense pulp, which definitely affects the weight of fruits (500-800 g) with a length of 18-22 cm.The main positive quality is a high yield, reaching in optimal weather conditions years 16-20 kg per bush.
The pulp is pale green to light cream in color. Does not coarse with the age of the fetus. But since the fruits of the squash are thin, their shelf life is limited. It should be noted that when outgrowing, the fruits do not lose their taste. Unpretentious to weather conditions. Iskander F1 hybrid can withstand short-term subzero temperatures. Even in cold summers, the hybrid produces a good harvest.
6. Zucchini "Sangrum F1"
An early ripe hybrid of a squash "Sangrum F1" bred in Holland. Forms a compact bush. The first fruits appear 38-40 days after germination. Fruits of a peculiar color are light green with white dots, cylindrical in shape. The pulp is medium juicy, tender, the skin is thin. Fruit weight does not exceed 200-400 g.
From one bush, the yield is not more than 5 kg, but the amicable ripening of the fruits will quickly free up the garden area for the next crop. The hybrid is characterized by increased endurance to adverse weather conditions. By its properties and quality of the fruit, it is ideal for the preparation of squash caviar and other winter preparations.
7. Zucchini "Aral F1"
Refers to ultra-early zucchini. Forms a harvest for 30-35 days from germination. Fruiting lasts until the onset of frost. The plant forms a high yield of green leaves with a systematic collection in 3-4 days. Up to 10 kg of harvest can be obtained from one bush.
It is distinguished by a semi-bush form, as if raised above the soil. Branches start from a small trunk. Fruits of a squash of medium size - weighing from 400 to 800 g. The shape of a pumpkin is cylindrical, slightly ribbed. The color of the peel is light green with sparsely scattered specks and small light spots. The pulp is firm, tender, very tasty. The hybrid is resistant to a complex of major diseases (mold, root rot, yellow zucchini mosaic, etc.).
8. Zucchini "Gribovskie 37"
Zucchini variety "Gribovskie 37" I like for "patience". A very old variety. It is well adapted to variable weather conditions, resistant to fungal (peronosporia, all types of rot) and bacteriosis (bacteriosis). It grows and develops well at moderate temperatures.
I usually plant it outside the garden, along the fence. The zucchini stems are covered with thorns, which is a significant obstacle for intruders.
"Gribovskie 37" refers to mid-season varieties that form a harvest in the second half of summer. The first harvest of fruits is after 50-55 days from germination. I start cleaning when the mass of zelents reaches 250-300 g.
The shape of the zucchini fruit is elongated-cylindrical, slightly ribbed at the base. The skin is thin, white with greenish stripes. The pulp is loose, but juicy, white, less often yellowish. Sufficient yield - within 7-10 kg per bush.
9. Zucchini "Lenutsa F1"
A southern hybrid of a squash, but it has proven itself well in different regions of Russia, where it is now gaining more and more popularity and distribution.
Zucchini bush is medium, compact. Early variety. I take the first fruit in 35-38 days. Fruit weight from 250-600 g. Fruits resemble a narrow cylinder, the skin is light green, very thin, the pulp is dense, juicy, with a sweet taste (sugar content up to 3%). The taste is high.
Recommended for dietary meals after complex operations on the digestive tract, in baby food, in cooking for various second courses and winter preparations. Small pickled fruits "Lenutsa" are tastier than pickled cucumbers.
The zucchini variety is famous for its resistance to bacteriosis and peronosporiosis.
10. Zucchini "Roller"
Last year, for the first time, I tried to grow in the south a variety of zucchini "Rolik" recommended as the most hardy and cold-resistant for the northern regions. I don't have a greenhouse, I tried to get an early harvest without her.
Like all previous varieties and hybrids of zucchini, I grew 30 day old seedlings on a kitchen windowsill and planted them in open ground in the first half of April. Until April 20-25, there are significant decreases in above-zero temperatures, so a couple of times I covered young plants with spunbond for the night and took off the shelter in the morning at 8-9 o'clock.
In May, the weather is already hot, often without rain. The variety has formed very compact, even small, low-leafed bushes. In the second half of May, I received the first fruits.
The shape of the fruit of the squash is cylindrical, whitish-greenish in color, weighing 200-250 g. The flesh is whitish, the taste is pleasant. By the end of July, my 2 bushes were dry. The total harvest was 4.5 and 5.0 kg. But it was the earliest harvest in conditions atypical for the variety. I think the experiment was a success.
Dear Reader! The number of varieties and hybrids of zucchini for different regions of Russia and countries with similar climatic conditions significantly exceeds 200. And it is impossible to describe them even for one region. I briefly described those varieties and hybrids of zucchini that I grow in my garden.
